Open the top cover upward, take out the paper holder and load thepaper roll to the paper holder according to the appropriate size.
Driver installation
Download the driver from a CD or official website. Then, connect your device with the printer when installing the driver.
Label printing
The thermal printer supports up to 6IPS high-speed printing with low noise, reducing unnecessary time waste.
How to solve the problem of printing blank labels?
There are two possible reasons:
First, the most common reason is that your labels are loaded upside down. Please make sure that your labels are properly loaded with print side up.Second, if your printing comes out blank, you may check if the media type is correct. SP420 is a thermal label printer, please print directly using the thermal label.
Here is a quick way to check your paper type: Power on your printer, load paper, press and hold feed button until green indicator light flashed once to release, and it will print a self-check page. If the printed label is blank, you may confirm that it is not a thermal label. Please replace with a thermal label and try again, and the problem shall be solved.
After printing one label, it will spit out few more blank labels.
If you are using labels for printing, please check media type on driver settings and make sure it is “Labels with Gaps”.
To check media type: Control Panel -> Devices and Printers -> Right click on “SP420 Printer”-> Printer preferences -> Advanced setting -> Media type -> Select ‘Labels with Gaps’ -> OK
Is this printer compatible with Chromebook?
Please note iDPRT SP420 is not compatible with Chromebook because Chromebook doesn’t allow third-party software / drivers to be installed.
SP420 is compatible with Windows, mac OS and Linux.
Please use above mentioned compatible systems to work with SP420.
My thermal label printer SP420 doesn’t work.
Step 1: Please check if the test page can be printed. If you can print the test page, please refer to the second step. Otherwise, refer to manual driver installation and re-install the printer driver.
Step 2: Please check if the data has been sent to the printer. When you click the ‘Print’ button, the indicator light flashes green, which means the data has been sent to printer. If the printer doesn’t print, please refer to the third step.
Step 3: Please provide the printed data for our analysis.To set on driver settings: Printer properties -> Ports -> Select ‘FILE: Print to file’, and then send printing job normally, a PRN file will be generated, which contains printer settings and operation record on printer. If you can provide us with the PRN file, we will analyze it as soon as possible and get the results back to you.
